Need your assembalge made ready for archiving?      

 

Whether it is due to a lack of time, space or resources ~ sometimes help is needed to ensure that your assemblage is ready for deposition in the county archive.

 

Abbey Archaeology can prepare your assemblage for you to ensure it meets the criteria of the relevant county storage, below is a list of services that may be needed.

 

 

*Please note that we will get your assemblage ready for archiving but we do not deposit/ or arrange deposition with your local archive storage.

 

Providing a range of services to make your assemblage archive ready                                                                                                                                  

  • Cleaning and drying the remains ~ prevents mould during archiving
  •  
  • Marking site code and context on the bones ~ county specific
  •  
  • Each context packaged in labelled polythene archive bags
  •  
  • Then packed in acid free archive boxes
  •  
  • Archive labels for the appropriate county will be attached to the boxes
  •  
  • All archive boxes will have a list of contents inside which is also supplied in digital form

 

 

NB: For ethical reasons each Human skeleton will be archived in its own archive box.
